Manuel Porto Moreno was born on 3 February 1922 in La Habana. Narried Lucía Herminia Chao, daughter of José Chao and Herminia. Had two children:

Alberto was born on 8 December 1956. Married Leslie, and they had Albert. Later married Marta from Argentina, after moving to that country, had no further children.
Manolo lived in Cuba, worked with Nando for a while in the construction of the Naval Base of Guantánamo; worked at Cruesellas y Compañía, representative of Colgate-Palmolive, where reached the position of Assistant Chief of the Publicity Department. He later had a carpentry shop in Palatino, moved the family to Miami in 1957, where he was in charge of the Latin Branch of Chez Milhet Catering. Founded later the catering service Chez Capó and the restaurant Yayo in Miami. They moved later to Puerto Rico, where he had a restaurant too. Returned to Miami years later and had another carpentry shop. Later he worked as administrator of apartment buildings, the latest being the one at 9850 SW 8 Street, Miami, where he retired.
Lived in an apartment in Kendall after retirement, where he died, on 11 July 2001, of Parkinson Disease.
